The Peter Milner Youth Scholarship
... for aspiring musicians under the age of 25.
For 2017 we are offering two full scholarships, worth $550 each, to cover the cost of camp registration.
The scholarship program was established in the memory of Peter Milner, the biggest kid of all, who was co-founder (with Bob Hayes) of the Kluane Mountain Bluegrass Festival. Peter loved to play banjo, and introduced many to the world of bluegrass music.
The scholarship is open to anyone between the ages of 15 and 24 as of 22 June, 2017.
If the successful candidate is 18 or younger as of June 22, 2017 the student must be accompanied by a parent or authorized adult who is also registered for camp (for overnight stay) or be dropped off and picked up daily. Please contact us to discuss these arrangements: [email protected]
To make a scholarship application, this is all we need: Send us something -- a letter, or anything creative -- explaining why you should receive this honour. Please forward your submissions or any questions you may have, by email to [email protected] or, by mail to Yukon Acoustic Music Workshop, 206 Hawkins St, Whitehorse, YT Y1A 1X4.
DEADLINE: Deadline for submissions is February 28, 2017.
Following the deadline, all submissions will be reviewed. Successful candidates will be notified by March 10, 2017.
